Sierra Club Wyoming Chapter, in partnership with Braided River, is working to engage concerned citizens to help preserve undeveloped sagebrush landscapes and the wildlife that depends on them. We invite you to join us to visit some of these special places this summer, to learn more about the incredible wildlife and other natural values they support, and how you can get involved to help protect them for future generations.
Join Laramie and Cheyenne Sierra Club leaders and members to explore a magical place southwest of Cheyenne, just north of the Colorado border. With a Nature Conservancy guide, we’ll visit an area of beautiful shortgrass and shrubland prairie called The Big Hole, as well as nearby conservation easements on private lands in similar habitats. We will discuss the ecological value of these high plains habitats while enjoying an easy day hike and, possibly, some volunteer work activities.
